By accessing or using Lumens Money, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Lumens Money is an African-first financial messaging platform providing end-to-end encrypted messaging, a non-custodial multi-asset crypto wallet (Stellar XLM/USDC/XRP), ZAR digital wallet linked to a virtual card, cross-border payment rails (SA ↔ Ghana ↔ Rwanda), and AI-powered budget and expense tracking.
You must be 18 years or older and resident in a supported jurisdiction (South Africa, Ghana, Rwanda). KYC verification is required under FSCA, FICA (SA), BoG (Ghana), and BNR (Rwanda) requirements. Tier 1 KYC applies SA ID or Ghana Card; Tier 2 requires biometric liveness check via Smile Identity.
Your Stellar wallet private keys are generated and stored on your device using AES-256-GCM encryption. Lumens Money never holds or accesses your private keys. Crypto transactions on the Stellar network are irreversible. You are solely responsible for safeguarding your seed phrase and PIN.
Your ZAR digital wallet stores fiat currency and is linked to a virtual card. Lumens Money is not a bank and is not covered by the South African Deposit Insurance Corporation (SADIC) unless otherwise stated. Card usage is subject to terms of the issuing institution.
Lumens facilitates cross-border payments via Stellar settlement (USDC bridge) and local fiat rails (Paystack, Zeepay, GHIPSS MMI). Exchange rates and fees are shown at time of transaction. Processing times target under 60 seconds but may vary due to network conditions. Lumens operates in compliance with SARB cross-border mandates, BoG VASP requirements, and FIC AML regulations.
All South African user data is stored on servers located in Johannesburg, South Africa, in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) 2013. You have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information. Contact our Information Officer at popia@lumens.money.
Ghana user data is processed in compliance with the Data Protection Act 2012 (Act 843). Lumens GH is registered with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
Lumens Money shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including losses arising from market volatility of crypto assets, network congestion, third-party service failures, or force majeure events.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Johannesburg, South Africa, under the AFSA Arbitration Rules. Ghana users may escalate to the BoG Consumer Protection Unit.
Lumens Money reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. You will be notified of material changes via the app with at least 14 days' notice. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
